QUANTITY SURVEYOR (Band 8) (VACANT)
Salary Range – $4,266,270 – $5,737,659 per annum and any allowance(s) attached to the post.
JOB SUMMARY
The Quantity Surveyor provides professional cost management, measurement, estimation and contract valuation services to Rural Water Supply Limited (RWSL) in support of rural water supply and associated civil infrastructure projects. The incumbent prepares accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates and tender pricing documentation; advises on project cost planning and budgeting; verifies interim and final contractor claims; and supports effective cost control over Government of Jamaica (GOJ) funded and consultancy projects.
The role supports Technical Services Division by ensuring that all projects are adequately costed prior to procurement, monitored during implementation, and financially closed out with accurate valuations and audit-ready documentation.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)
- Cost estimating and review
- Development of Cost Database
- Preparation of Bill of Quantities
- Assessment of Interim Valuations
- Assessment of Final Project Cost
- Preparing Final Accounts
- Measurement of works and assessing variations
- Checking and verifying of quantities and claims
- Project Management and Contract Administration activities as required
- Provide excellent support and follow up on outstanding matters
- Construction supervision
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience
- Working knowledge of FIDIC
- Experience in Infrastructure Projects
- Experience in estimating and costing
- Experience in Contract Administration
